On our recent trip up the coast, our family friends took us into Coffs Harbour so that I could do some of the touristy things. The place they chose for us to visit was Sealy Lookout. Sealy Lookout is at the top of the mountain in Orara East State Forest. The windy drive up the mountain provided us with amazing views and several opportunities to buy local bananas! If you didn’t already know, Coffs Harbour is home to ALOT of banana plantations and is even home to the Aussie icon, the Big Banana.
Jetty at Coffs Harbour
I’m not sure if you are able to tell but do you see those two island looking things in the view behind me? Well, that’s where we are headed next! Back in the car and down to the Jetty!
You are able to walk out onto Mutton Bird Island, but we didn’t go out there since the weather wasn’t that great. After our visit to the Jetty we headed off to the local surf club for some lunch. I didn’t take any pictures while driving, but Patrick and his family kept pointing out places they used to go when the lived up there. It was pretty cool to see where the lived before they moved to Newcastle.
If you don’t have much time to visit Coffs and find yourself passing through, be sure to visit the Big Banana!! It’s a pretty cool place to get out and stretch your legs. This was me last year when we were passing through Coffs on our way to Burleigh Heads.
I have linked up with Her Heartland Soul go check her out!
