Beach Day at Boat Harbour, NSW

December 30, 2016

December has been an unusual busy month this year and now that Christmas is over and Patrick and I are still on holidays we planned a much needed relaxing beach day. Two days after Christmas we decided to go up to Boat Harbour, NSW (only an hour north of Newcastle) to get away from the hustle and bustle of Newy. Boat Harbour is a small town with a beautiful beach that is sheltered by rocky headlands on either side leaving the beach with virtually no waves. The perfect place to just relax and float in the water. We pitched our umbrella, applied sunscreen and got ready to relax! After we finished baking in the sun, we found a path that led us out towards the rocks/headlands and had a quick look around.

Boat Harbour looks like a great place to spend a relaxing afternoon … as well as a great place to explore! Thanks for peaking my interest, and causing me to add this to my list on my next trip down under.

Thanks Bruce. 🙂 It is truly a lovely place to explore, and it a bit off the beaten path.

Oh, I miss beach days during winter months. We have so dark in Finland at the moment. Thank you for inspiring me!

Thanks Petra! What a coincidence, Patrick just suggested that we should go to Finland when we visit Europe next Sept/Oct.

WOW these photos are so beautiful, we envy you! We love beach especially during winter season! What type of camera did you use?

Thanks! And it is nice to be able to go to the beach during Christmas even though I miss the snow. You might be shocked… but all the photos were taken on my iphone 6. I back them up to google photos and edit them to my liking (i.e brightness and color). I wish I had a fancy camera 🙂

It is currently below freezing and snowy where I am, so these pictures look even more amazing and enticing! Beautiful!

Thanks Vicki! I am actually missing the snowy winter Christmas this year! 🙁 I have yet to get used to a summer Christmas, but it is nice to go to the beach on Christmas day.
