It’s 2018! And what do I find myself doing? Reminiscing about our recent trip to Europe, specifically the Palace of Versailles. So today I thought I would share with you the photos from our day trip to the Palace of Versailles.
Doing a day trip from Paris to Versailles is very easy. We took the RER C line from the Saint Michel-Notre Dame stop and rode until we reached the Versailles-Château – Rive Gauche stop. One tip is to buy your return fare back to Paris as soon as you get off the train before going to the palace. The reason for this is that there will be so many people trying to leave at once and only a few ticket machines at which to purchase, but if you already have your ticket you can skip the line and get right on the next train. To plan your visit be sure to visit the official Palace of Versailles website to purchase tickets.
From the Versailles-Château – Rive Gauche train station, cross the street and head left towards the Starbucks, then turn right onto Avenue de Sceaux. You will continue down the avenue until you see the view below.
The Palace of Versailles
I will never forget our visit to the Palace of Versailles as it has left me with so many good memories. I don’t think I will ever get over knowing that Kings and royals from all over Europe roamed the same corridors and gardens that we did during our visit and most everything is still intact. It is also pretty amazing that people were able to build things with such basic tools and thus create some of the most stunning architecture we still admire today.
If you are ever visiting Paris and have some extra time I would definitely recommend taking a day to go visit the beautiful Palace of Versailles. If you would like to read more about our trip to Paris you can check out our full itinerary here!
